A word from England...

We held a church fun day last Saturday to help raise money for the church.  That day brought in over £1,000.  That's very good for the very small church.  Pray for them as they are trying to raise more money to add on to their building.

However, everything for fun day had to go into storage.  Me in the attic.

This is St. Mary's Lighthouse.  Today we walked to this spot on a sponsored walk to raise money for the youth fund.  It was a good time.

We walked along the route I take when I ride Martin's bike.

We got there in a little over 2 hrs and traveled 10 miles.

Afterward we had a cookout at the beach.

Here I am cooking.  Made Gumbo for Martin and Pauline.  Then I made Gamon fried rice (the gamon looked like pork) for Steve and Michelle.  I made it with a super sweet chinese spice I found at market.  However, I'm a messing cooker and you would have died if you saw Michelle's face after I was finished with her kitchen.

This is Debra and I (Megan taking the picture) on a boat ride in York.

York Minster.

York Minster.

Here's Papa Spence and I.  The girls and I are staying at Martin and Pauline's house.  They have treated us as their own kids and have been like parents to us while we have stayed here.

See you guys in about 2 weeks.  PEACE!

I've got more pictures!

My team and the pastor's family at Alnwick with the church.

They have baby pringles in England.

Working on music for Sunday.

Going over music with Steve.

Censoring the friends game for youth club.

We took the kids to the fire station.

They got to shoot the fire hose.

We got locked out so I had to jimmy rig a device to break in without breaking anything.

The church went to Alnwick castle and here's some of the kids on the rope bridge.

Debra and I.

Debra in the stocks.

Megan in the stocks.

Me in the stocks.

Megan, ah.

Debra, lovely.

Me, uh?

Me on the Mellinium bridge in New Castle.

That's all for now.

Here's an update of the weekend:

This is Emily, Megan, and Megan.

Gavin and I playing slaps.

More pictures are on the way.  I went to a concert in Glasgow and got to dance on stage in front of 6,000 people.  Good times.  A lot of stuff is going on.  Thanks for everything.

Salutations from England,

I have safely made it to Cramlington and am now getting settled in.  After 5 days in trainning camp and 17 hours traveling, I am glad to finally be here.  Everything is just going splended so far over here.  They like fish over here and I love to eat fish...so it works out great.

A more extensive update with pictures is soon to come!

Thank you for all the pray and support!

Matt Rains
